Christina Gutierrez Bio

My Head Start journey began when I became a Head Start parent. I was impressed with the services provided by the program, and I wanted to learn more about it. So, I decided to volunteer at the center where my son attended. Through this experience, I learned more about Head Start and built strong relationships with other families. Eventually, I became an assistant teacher at Head Start and I was committed to helping each child become academically ready for school entry.

This experience motivated me to enroll in college and pursue my teaching degree. Finally, in December 2020, I received my master's in education in Early Childhood. I started my career as a Campus Director and now work in Administration as the Staff Development Director. As Staff Development Director, I encourage and motivate our staff to continue their education. I facilitate disability aide floaters to get their CDA credentials, help our Family Services Workers obtain their Family Development Credential, and guide our teachers to be TEA Certified. I love my job 
and enjoy traveling during my time off.
