Martha Rodriguez Bio

Hello esteemed colleagues, I am Martha Rodriguez, a proud 58-year resident of Donna, Texas. I have reared five grown adults all of which are either pursuing careers in education or in a medical profession. I graduated from the University of Texas Pan American in 1995 with a bachelor's in interdisciplinary studies and a minor in Bilingual Education. During my teaching career of 19 years with Donna ISD, I earned a master's degree in Guidance and Counseling from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in 2012. I practiced for 8 years in an elementary
setting in Donna, Texas that allowed me an opportunity to help children and their families coming from all walks of life and facing multiple challenges. These experiences enabled me to learn, advocate, and grow as an individual who truly cares about children at different capacities, including those with disabilities. Currently as the Director of the Disability & Mental Health Department for the Hidalgo County Head Start Program, I am honored to once again be able to serve our staff, children, and their families with the utmost sincere care and take great interest in helping them through their children's challenges to pass on leadership roles to my staff in better serving them in classrooms, and at home. Through constant and meaningful collaborations with outside agencies, I am confident we will achieve great things in the years to come.
