Sam Juarez Bio
My skill set began with my employment at Texas State Technical College as a Network
Technician from 1985 to 1996. It was there where I received my Novell Certifications, Fiber
Optic Training, and AT&T Telephone Support Training. We supported IBM PC DOS, Novell,
AutoMenu, WinSock TCP/IP Stack, Pegasus Mail, Terminals, and Line Printers. We also
installed and supported Cabletron Hubs, Cat5 Ethernet infrastructure, and fiber optic
cables. From 1996 to 2021 I was employed at McAllen ISD and enjoyed positions as a
Computer Network Specialist, Coordinator of Network Services, and then Coordinator of
Technology and Support Services. The network landscape drastically changed from the
first day I reported to the district. With over 35 years of experience in the educational
technology field, I sought employment at the Hidalgo County Head Start Program in 2021
as the Network Manager and have been on the job since. Adaptation and technology are
synonymous. If you are in technology, you must be willing to adapt, and it is with that
attitude I look forward to implementing new and innovative solutions for HCHSP.
