Gilbert Silva Bio

I graduated from the University of Texas-Pan-American with a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics in 1998. I have served Thirteen wonderful years with Hidalgo County Head Start and have over twenty years of experience in Community Nutrition and Food Service. I am a highly motivated and experienced problem solver who loves motivating others to achieve their goals. My experience in Food Management, Menu Planning, Food Safety, Food Science, and Nutrition Counseling has helped me provide the best services for our Head Start children. We have a wonderful team of 24 highly dedicated individuals who do not shy away from a new challenge. My objective is to continue to develop and implement an ongoing comprehensive nutrition services program that meets the needs of our community preschool children and, at the same time, is in congruence with our Head Start Program Performance Standards.
