Jorge Cavazos Bio

My name is Jorge A. Cavazos. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and a Master’s Degree in Information Technology Management. I bring nearly three decades of experience in public education, having worked in K–12 environments for 29 years before transitioning to Hidalgo County Head Start. I joined Hidalgo County Head Start as the Data and Compliance Manager, where I focused on data integrity, reporting, and alignment with program requirements. I was later promoted to Chief Information Technology Officer, where I oversee technology systems and support data-driven operations across the organization. In this role, I deepened my knowledge of the Head Start Program Performance Standards and their application in strengthening program effectiveness and compliance. Currently, I am the Assistant Program Director for Information Technology. My professional interests include data analytics and data disaggregation, using data as both a lens and a lever to uncover insights, guide decision-making, and support continuous improvement efforts. Outside of work, I enjoy playing soccer and bowling, and I value my time spent watching movies with my family.
