Ready, Set, Go! The San Carlos Head Start playground is a go! On February 29, 2024 Head Start staff, parents, community member, and our VIPs (Head Start students) were on hand to celebrate the Ribbon Cutting to the new playground.

Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Outdoor Learning Center was celebrated on February 21, 2024. Commissioner Ellie Torres Pct 4, Rosa Perez, Policy Council Chairperson, Aisha Gonzalez, B2Z President joined Head Start Executive Director Irma Peña at the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Outdoor Learning Center.

We are partnered with 9 ISDs across Hidalgo County. We have certified teachers with high quality instruction.

Head Start dads attended the 22nd Fatherhood/Wellness Conference. Keynote note speaker at the conference was former KRGV-TV5 anchor Oscar Adame. Presenters included: Sr. Deputy Claudio Macias, Adelita Figueroa Muñoz, Joaquin "J.J." Zamora, J.D., and Nora E. Amaya. Commissioner Ellie Torres, Precinct 4 and Representative for Commissioner David L. Fuentes - Jose Cabezadevaca were also in attendance. The Fatherhood Conference was held February 23, 204 at the Double Tree Suites in McAllen, Tx.

RGV Chamber of Commerce welcomes Head Start on becoming a part of the Rio Grande Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Head Start is joining a network of business professionals that will help with contacts and promote Head Start services.

certification.
